Jorge Barani

Cuba in 2010. His professional career started in National Ballet of Cuba where he performed important roles in ballets such as Fairy Doll, Romeo and Juliet, La Fille Mal Gardee, Dracula and others. In 2012, he joined Ballet de Monterrey in Mexico and in 2013, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida in Miami.
 
Previously, Mr. Barani has also been invited to perform with the London’s Royal Ballet. His  international roles include Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, Black Swan Pas de Deux, Don Quixote Pas de Deux, Flames of Paris Pas de Deux to mention a few of them. In 2013, Mr. Barani won the Gold Medal in the World Competition in Orlando, Florida, in July 2015 he won the Silver Medal in the Korean International Ballet Competition, and in January 2016, Jorge won the Silver Medal at the Vienna International Ballet Experience (VIBE) competition. In July 2016, he won the Silver Medal at the Varna International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.
 
At Kentucky Ballet Theatre, his Principal roles include The Merchant & the Slave Pas de Deux and Grand Pas Des Eventails from Le Corsaire, Lucien in Paquita, Phoebus in La Esmeralda, Alvaro in Carnival of Venice, James in La Sylphide, Gustav in Beauty & the Beast, Prince Desire in Cinderella, the Prince in The Little Mermaid, Peter in Peter Pan, lead male in The Talisman, Diana and Acteon Pas de Deux, Harlequinade Pas de Deux and the Spring Waters Pas de Deux. He has also performed lead roles in The Night Before Christmas, Beethoven, Degas, Nisi Dominus, Hoops, Gitanos, Cuban Sugar, Calles de Tango, Classics & Cuba as well as other classical, contemporary and neoclassical works.
